For TAFTA’s Sapphire Jubilee celebration, Jane Linley-Thomas and Hello Poppy created a curated couture-inspired fashion showcase celebrating the beauty, dignity and individuality of ageing.
Elders from across the community were invited to take part through an open audition process, with each participant bringing not only their presence to the runway, but their personal story too. As they walked the ramp, recorded snippets of their lives, memories and reflections played through the venue transforming the fashion show into something deeply human and emotionally moving.
The evening became far more than a runway event. It was a celebration of visibility, courage, joy and remembrance, honouring elders not for fading quietly into the background, but for the lives they have lived, the stories they carry and the wisdom they continue to share.
Through storytelling, fashion and connection, the Sapphire Jubilee showcase embodied Hello Poppy’s ongoing mission to celebrate and uplift our elders in meaningful and memorable ways.
